Catching up

It's been a good few weeks for various reasons. Firstly, my friend Jonny Keys officially got his R-1 visa so he is going to be joining our youth ministry apprenticeship program in August. I know that he is going to be huge asset to our church and that his laughter is going to echo throughout the our church building! Secondly, my sister Abi came and stayed with us for a week and it was great to introduce her to Hannah and to catch up with her. Thirdly, I saw Captain Ben on Sunday as he was over in Augusta representing the British army in a golf tournament. It was great to hear his news about their baby, he is going to be a great Dad! Fourthly, Hannah got baptised on Sunday which was a really special occasion. She was the first baby to get baptised in the contemporary service at our churches new location, Daniel Island. She managed not to cry and seemed to thoroughly enjoy being paraded around the church (is this a warning sign?!). We then had a great BBQ or cookout as they say here and had about 20 people join us to celebrate. Fifthly, my sister and her family moved in to what sounds like a great new home and I can't wait to see it at Christmas!

What else? I got my moped fixed and it is running very smoothly so now I am cruising the highways with the top down once again... we also had our end of year Middle School beach party last night and it went really well. One of our leaders has a house on the Isle of Palms beach which was perfect for the event. Tomorrow we have our High School end of year party  and then that's it for a couple of weeks until we kick in to our summer program which basically involves three trips (New Wine, Camp Bonnie Doone and our mission trip to John's Island) and a more laid back program.

Hannah managed to sleep through the night last Sunday, however she hasn't done it again since, but hopefully it won't be long now.

Today we're off to Edisto Island which is about an hour down the coast. Here we're meeting up with some friends from Pennsylvania who have been staying there all week.

OK. That's what happens when I don't blog more regularly about stuff that's happening. I'll try and be a bit more regular with my news...
